my dream, is it just a dream??????
Hey guys, how do you interpret the song American Pie by Don McLean?
Please don't give me links to websites like www.songmeanings.net because I am just interested in what you guys think.
Thankyou, lyrics are below, incase you need refreshing :)

A long, long time ago...
I can still remember
How that music used to make me smile.
And I knew if I had my chance
That I could make those people dance
And, maybe, they'd be happy for a while.

But February made me shiver
With every paper I'd deliver,
Bad news on the doorstep;
I couldn't take one more step.

I can't remember if I cried
When I read about his widowed bride,
But something touched me deep inside
The day the music died.

So bye-bye, Miss American Pie,
Drove my chevy to the levee,
But the levee was dry.
Them good old boys were drinkin' whiskey and rye
Singin', "this'll be the day that I die,"
"This'll be the day that I die."

Did you write the book of love,
And do you have faith in God above,
If the Bible tells you so?
Do you believe in rock 'n roll,
Can music save your mortal soul,
And can you teach me how to dance real slow?

Well, I know that you're in love with him
'Cause I saw you dancin' in the gym.
You both kicked off your shoes.
Man, I dig those Rhythm and Blues.

I was a lonely teenage broncin' buck
With a pink carnation and a pickup truck,
But I knew I was out of luck,
The day the music died.

I started singin',
"Bye-Bye, Miss American Pie."
Drove my chevy to the levee,
But the levee was dry.
Them good old boys were drinkin' whiskey and rye
Singin', "this'll be the day that I die."
"This'll be the day that I die."

Now for ten years we've been on our own
And moss grows fat on a rollin' stone,
But that's not how it used to be.
When the Jester sang for the King and Queen,
In a coat he borrowed from James Dean
And a voice that came from you and me,

Oh, and while the King was looking down,
The Jester stole his thorny crown.
The courtroom was adjourned;
No verdict was returned.
And while Lennon read a Book of Marx,
The quartet practiced in the park,
And we sang dirges in the dark
The day the music died.

We were singing,
"Bye-Bye, Miss American Pie."
Drove my chevy to the levee,
But the levee was dry.
Them good old boys were drinkin' whiskey and rye
Singin', "this'll be the day that I die."
"This'll be the day that I die."

Helter Skelter in a Summer swelter.
The birds flew off with a fallout shelter,
Eight miles high and falling fast.
It landed foul on the grass.
The players tried for a forward pass,
With The Jester on the sidelines in a cast.

Now the half-time air was sweet perfume
While the sergeants played a marching tune.
We all got up to dance,
Oh, but we never got the chance!
'Cause the players tried to take the field;
The marching band refused to yield.
Do you recall what was revealed
The day the music died?

We started singing,
"Bye-Bye, Miss American Pie."
Drove my chevy to the levee,
But the levee was dry.
Them good old boys were drinkin' whiskey and rye
Singin', "this'll be the day that I die."
"This'll be the day that I die."

Oh, and there we were all in one place,
A generation lost in space
With no time left to start again.
So come on: Jack be nimble, Jack be quick!
Jack flash sat on a candlestick
Cause fire is The Devil's only friend.

Oh, and as I watched him on the stage
My hands were clenched in fists of rage.
No angel born in hell
Could break that Satan's spell.
And as the flames climbed high into the night,
To light the sacrificial rite,
I saw Satan laughing with delight,
The day the music died.

He was singing,
"Bye-Bye, Miss American Pie."
Drove my chevy to the levee,
But the levee was dry.
Them good old boys were drinkin' whiskey and rye
Singin', "this'll be the day that I die."
"This'll be the day that I die."

I met a girl who sang the Blues
And I asked her for some happy news,
But she just smiled and turned away.
I went down to the sacred store
Where I'd heard the music years before,
But the man there said the music wouldn't play.

And in the streets: the children screamed,
The lovers cried, and the poets dreamed.
But not a word was spoken;
The church bells all were broken.
And the three men I admire most:
The Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost,
They caught the last train for the coast
The day the music died.

And they were singing,
"Bye-Bye, Miss American Pie."
Drove my chevy to the levee,
But the levee was dry.
And them good old boys were drinkin' whiskey and rye,
Singin', "this'll be the day that I die."
"This'll be the day that I die."

They were singing,
"Bye-Bye, Miss American Pie."
Drove my chevy to the levee,
But the levee was dry.
Them good old boys were drinkin' whiskey and rye
Singin', "this'll be the day that I die."

Don McLean's American Pie? What do you think?
I asked this question. and these are my views. Its long but its really good stuff. Its all my own. I am a 16 year old popular kid in high school, I'm one of those jocks you see who is mean to the nerds and makes fun of the emo kids. but these are my true thoughts.

The typical American life: A man is looking for happiness, he says when I finish high school at the top of my class with a scholarship to the college I want I will find happiness; he gets to the point and nothing. He says when I finish my doctorate degree and am making a 6 figure income I will find happiness; he gets to that point and nothing. He says when I buy my new Cadillac Escalade I will find happiness; when he buys his dream car he still doesn’t find happiness. He says maybe if I get married and start a family I will find happiness; he gets to that point and finds nothing. The point to this is that the man is only looking for the next step but he doesn’t stop to look at himself internally to find what he really needs; after one fails his mind immediately rushes him to find something different to replace it, finishing college, making money, buying a new car, and starting a family. The man grows old and when doctors detect cancer in him he realizes that his whole life was a joke. He did everything always looking for the next step and didn’t take time to appreciate his life daily. Morrie said “So many people walk around with a meaningless life. This is because they're chasing the wrong things.”
Americans are guilty of this nonsense, everything we do is somehow connected to economic pursuits, and we never do anything for other people unless we are getting something in return, for example charity because we pay less taxes that way. “People get buried in work and money” what is one of the most common ways to get to have good work and a lot of money? An education! Some people spend 24 years or more in school to reach their ultimate goal; make a lot of money. Morrie said “Throw down your books the only thing you have to lose is grades” what is it with education? Why does everybody want it? Why is it destructive and unimportant for the sake of human kind, but so important to for the sake of society? What’s a grade? Nothing more than ink on a piece of paper, it symbolizes not how intelligent you are but how well you adapt to the system of society. If I wanted to I could write an A on my paper, and in fact if I don’t like a class I shouldn’t even do it because for me personally there is no gain in learning that information and it is a waste of my time. But contrarily I do because I have to play this American game of materialism.
Where is education going to take me? I spend 12 years of my life to finish high school and 12 more years in college if I want to become a doctor a lawyer something that makes me a lot of money. What will I do with all that money invest so I can make more, be like everybody else, Buy nice things that will get old in a couple of years on purpose so I have to keep buying new ones? Give it away? Why? I made that money with hard work! Yet again, if I didn’t have money where would I live? Would I have food? If I made just enough money to get by I would want more wouldn’t I? And I would probably have a bad job since most low paying jobs are bad. What else could I be doing with those 24 years of my life plus all the time I’m going to be working in my career field doing exactly the same thing over and over again. For example have you ever thought of it? Why school takes so long to finish? It’s pure bureaucracy; school is a business; it provides jobs, why does it take so long? School is very repetitive we don’t learn anything different just a step further each school year, why don’t we just learn everything at once? Because if we did we wouldn’t need that many teachers meaning unemployment; because if we did the rate of drop outs would decrease and too many people would go to college and not enough stay behind to do the dirty work, the truth is not everybody can go to college; because if we did people would be a lot smarter and see all these things, because they would have more time to comprehend philosophy, people would rise and want a new government. But I follow it why? We’re all puppets, the difference between you and I is I am a puppet who can see the strings. (Words of wisdom, Richy).
It’s ridiculous it makes me realize what the point of life is, what we are really doing here and what will happen to us when we die. We have to live our life to the fullest every day and society does not let us do that. Society tells us go to school get an education make money so when you are older you don’t struggle. This is my point what is more important? Wasting 24 years of your life in school or having 24 years of your life full of memories with family and friends doing whatever it is that you love to do. I understand school is a big part of social life all I’m saying is one should study what they want If I learn something I’m not g

who thinks like me?! I'm 16 years old and I have a view on life most people don't share. do you?
Quotes from Mark Twain:

Faith is believing something you know ain't true."

"'In God We Trust.' I don't believe it would sound any better if it were true."

"It ain't the parts of the Bible that I can't understand that bother me, it is the parts that I do understand."

"Religion consists in a set of things which the average man thinks he believes and wishes he was certain of."

"There is no other life; life itself is only a vision and a dream for nothing exists but space and you. If there was an all-powerful God, he would have made all good, and no bad." Mark Twain in Eruption

"Our Bible reveals to us the character of our god with minute and remorseless exactness... It is perhaps the most damnatory biography that exists in print anywhere. It makes Nero an angel of light and leading by contrast" Reflections on Religion, 1906

"O Lord our God, help us tear their soldiers to bloody shreds with our shells; help us to cover their smiling fields with the pale forms of their patriot dead; help us to drown the thunder of the guns with the shrieks of their wounded, writhing in pain; help us to lay waste their humble homes with a hurricane of fire; help us to wring the hearts of their unoffending widows with unavailing grief; help us to turn them out roofless with their little children to wander unfriended the wastes of their desolated land in rags and hunger and thirst, sports of the sun flames of summer and the icy winds of winter, broken in spirit, worn with travail, imploring Thee for the refuge of the grave and denied it..." "The War Prayer"

"[The Bible is] a mass of fables and traditions, mere mythology." Mark Twain and the Bible

"Man is a marvelous curiosity ... he thinks he is the Creator's pet ... he even believes the Creator loves him; has a passion for him; sits up nights to admire him; yes and watch over him and keep him out of trouble. He prays to him and thinks He listens. Isn't it a quaint idea." Letters from the Earth

"If there is a God, he is a malign thug."

Mr. Clemens was once asked whether he feared death. He said that he did not, in view of the fact that he had been dead for billions and billions of years before he was born, and had not suffered the slightest inconvenience from it.

"[The Bible] has noble poetry in it... and some good morals and a wealth of obscenity, and upwards of a thousand lies."

"In religion and politics people's beliefs and convictions are in almost every case gotten at second-hand, and without examination, from authorities who have not themselves examined the questions at issue but have taken them at second-hand from other non-examiners, whose opinions about them were not worth a brass farthing." Autobiography of Mark Twain by Samuel Clemens

Was Mark Twain an Atheist, or not? I say yes, your opinion?
It was totally unprecedented on my dreaming experience.

Quick Summary: Two nights ago, I dreamed that I was time-traveling. I don't really know how. I just went to this brick building in NYC and this guy would let me go in some sort of electrical field that enables me to time travel (sort of like inFamous.) I didn't even know why. I went back in time as a six year old. I was in a house with no one in it. I've never seen the house before and have no idea why CNN was on TV showing the news. The news was about 9/11. I suddenly get teleported (like how dreams shift from one situation to another.) I was in front of the Capitol and George Bush was giving a speech about 9/11 which happened recently.

THEN, I saw a friend of mine there who I HADN'T met until seventh grade. We have a very good relationship (no not like that.) I noticed it was him because the resemblance is clear, plus I had a feeling I had to talk to him. Somehow a camera came out of nowhere and I grabbed it just to videotape me and him talking.

Then, I went back to the future (idk how I forget some stuff that occurs in my dreams) and was about to show the video recording to him at school (I kept the camera somehow :D.) The reason was to show everyone that I went back in time. The dream ended afterward.

I dreamed that I was time-traveling. What does this mean?
Hello people,

Im currently living in North York Ontario :) So to graduate you need 30 credits and 40hr community involvement :) But sadly i have 0hr and I'm in GRADE 12. So i need the hours. I'm aiming for more then 40hrs though and i have a free schedule.

So my question is, is there any place where i can get my hours and is related to a field in research or in aerospace? I ask because I'm trying to get in Aerospace Engineering (and any field to follow my dream and find the unknown while working for the military building aeronautical stuff and making missiless/weapons and defense system,) and if i have hours in that field i can probably be nominated for a special scholarship and I'm also aiming for high marks as well ;)

So please help a brother out

A question about community Involvement?
With graduation just around the corner, and the option of pursuing my dream of entering into the legal field approaching quickly, I have to ask current lawyers in every area the big question..is it worth it?
I've heard many times that law school graduates are not finding jobs, which leaves them in dire straits with unpaid loans. Is this statement unsubstantiated? Are lawyers still having trouble finding jobs, or is it those alienated and few graduates that spread these rumors?
Also, what are the major trends in the legal industry. If I had to name a few, I would say:
1) Privacy Law
2) International Law
3) Technology law

Thank you!

What is the future of the legal industry?
Ok, I'm a 26 year old female living in St. Louis. I have a B.S. degree from a University. I've been out of school for four years and still don't have a clue what I want to do with my life. I majored in Criminal Justice but since graduating have decided I do not want to pursue that field. My problem is that nothing seems to interest me enough to pursue for the rest of my life. My interests don't seem to lead me toward any career type jobs.

I love music so I thought about a career in that, perhaps radio, booking, working at a record label, etc. I've worked at a local concert venue but only part time. I have no other experience so I can't seem to get a job in this field, and I've been trying for over a year.

My long term dream job would be to own a small venue that is able to book nationaly known bands. On a more realistic scale I would like to own or manage a local bar that is known for local bands playing.

I've also looked into real estate and apartment leasing, but haven't found anything or been hired in that field either. Basically I just don't know what to do. I've been working in retail since I've graduated and am desperate to get a new job. My work experience consists of clerical work and retail for the most part, but I'm not interested in that.

If anyone has any suggestions on what I can do, or maybe just some advice for me I would really appreciate it. Thanks a lot.

Finding the right career....I need help!?
i can only remember the last bit...

i was in my neighborhood back home and my ex was apparently a neighbor..my cat was in my dream as well.
anyways...i was joking around with my ex and he got pissed. after that i started to walk home with my cat following me.
when i got half way back to my house (i live in the country) a tiger ran out of the woods and stopped right in front of me.
i got really scared and just stood still, but it wasn't after me...first it tried to get something from a tree..then there were a bunch of kangaroos in the field to my left that it started for.
i picked up my cat and as soon as it was far enough away, then i ran straight for home.
i don't know if i made it or not but at that point i woke up.

Not generalising, but the majority seem to be.... so this statement must be correct?
Africans have contributed basically nothing to the advancement of technology or science. I saw on television once, that in High School they're still learning the alphabet. Whilst in Asia, they're doing high-level calculus and physics.

Just marvel at East Asia.... see the contrast? CBDs with skyscrapers in comparison to shanty towns and wastelands.

Perhaps we were just endowed with these genetics, in which case we can conclude how Africans are the most inferior race on Earth in terms of genes. Don't start getting politically correct, as we associate different breeds of dogs with various levels of intelligence due to their genetics. So in order to put things in perspective, Asians are like German Shepherds while on the other hand, Africans are a mix between Afghan Hounds and maybe a bulldog (due to their crime rate).

So why does everyone say we're born equal, as science says otherwise?

The general consensus in terms of intelligence, is that East Asians are the most smartest, Africans dumbest?
After my 8th grade year in middle school, I want to apply for a technical high school to study hairdressing. But would that effect the college I go to? I heard that if you go to a tech. school, you can't go to a really good college because you need to learn as much academics as possible where as in tech. school, they focus a little on academics and a lot on the course you take. So, can I still get into a state college? And by state college I mean UConn. (University of Connecticut.)

I'm an A-B student, and I'm in advanced placement classes.
I want to go to tech. school so I can open up a salon and work there as a job on the side when I get older. :D

Can you still get into a good college after you go to a tech. school?
Ok, I'm at my aunts house, the only problem is, she had dial up and the videos skip. Even if it loads all the way, it still skips. Well since videos won't help, I need a description, I know you walk and then jerk your head like your twitching, but i need a really good explaination because of a school talent show and we are doing the thriller and im the one who has to learn it and teach it. So step by step instructions please?

Oh and my high speed computer is busted and getting fixed and it might not be able to fix, so... ya.ok, i dont have youtube, videos skip, read the question!!! youtube vids dont help when the video skips and you dont know what kind of move they are doing!

How to do the thriller?
Ok, here's my story...
There's this girl that is created like the god Athena, by the mind. She trains hard for a thousand years, following the gods to learn. A millennium later, Emily Light-storm is born as a girl. She falls from the sky after Zeus banished her from Olympus. A boy the same age as Emily, which is 15, finds her weeping in the highest tree, in midair. He is shocked and......well that's all I got for now! Help me out! Or anything! Just comment!

Do you think this is a good Story?
Im a 14 year old boy and just wanna do some gymnastics or aerobics or whateva lolz. I wanna learn to flip around and jump high, run faster. Even jump buildings like some of the people on youtube. I want to find a place to go somewhere in Boston Massachusetts. Please help me out. Thanks

Do you know where a gym is?
So, after sorting out career options, I've decided to focus on linguistics and I have several questions on it.

I'm in 11th grade and I'm at that age where I need to decide on what colleges to do to and what I want to do for my life.

I've crossed out so many options and came up with linguist. Why?

I love learning new languages. I know Spanish and English of course. I've been to Germany, France, and Japan...so I experienced first-hand because I had host families and went to school there. Yada yada.

I managed to learn Finnish and Italian through CD-Roms and the internet. In my senior year, I will be taking Arabic. My mother has bought me a few books and CD-Roms that have 10 language-teaching programs on them. I find it so interesting to learn all of these and this is honestly what I'm considering.

But is that enough? How many languages should a linguist know? I guess it depends on where you want to go/do....

My high school has these classes called "concentrations" - sort of like majors in college. I've been in Language Arts for 4 years and this year my class is AP English and Composition. I'm very good with grammar and understanding parts of speech, ect....so that's sufficient to learning more languages....right?

So....final questions:

But it doesn't matter how many languages I know...I want to teach English as a second language in a different country.

Which countries have a semi-need/demand for English teachers....if there are any?

What majors would I take in college? Would I be able to take those in the United States or would I have to leave the country?

How long should I be in college to get a good career?

Where would you apply for a job like that?

Sorry this is so long...I just feel like I should know all of this stuff. Thanks in advance....

How would a career as a linguist be?
I need to write a 2 and 1/2 page essay. Any help/ideas? The notes I have so far are as follows (wall of text ahead):

•Bean was consciously engaged in myth making; The ANZAC Book is an example.
•A Legend is a story, true or false, that achieves a popular acceptance, often due to the fact that the story reaches such a vast audience.
•He only included entries in the ANZAC Book which “promoted the image of the digger he favoured.”
•“…there is a strong case that Bean shaped his account of the AIF in a way which reflected not only his sympathy for the ordinary soldier as opposed to the generals…but which also promoted a mythologised image of the AIF.”
•“Bean saw mateship as more than a form of emotional and physical support for Australian soldiers in combat. It had an almost religious quality and was another key to the success of the AIF. In the absence of more formal and traditional discipline it was mateship – peer-group pressure, the fear of letting others down – that provided informal discipline, making Australians perform and function as an effective fighting force.”
•The Australian Corps succeeded in 1918 because its soldiers, like those of all other nationalities, had been trained in more sophisticated tactics. The armies of which they were part had developed new technology, new techniques of artillery bombardment, and much better planning or organisation at the command level. Of none of these new skills did Australians, either at the level of the infantry unit or high command, have a monopoly.
•Australia’s National Identity is often that of Bushmen.
•ANZACs are an important part of Australia’s National Identity.
•Bean is widely recognised to have done “more than anyone to create the dominant ANZAC legend” (with ANZAC book).
•His legend of the ANZACs acquired a persuasive force that is very prominent in Australian culture.
•Stereotype for the ‘digger’:
oSuperb Fighter
oLarrikin
oEgalitarian
oHumorous
oLoyal to a Mate
•Bean’s somewhat biased reports contributed to the ANZAC legend.
•The nation believed what was in The ANZAC Book, but Bean only included the parts that made Australian fighters look good.
•He focused on the soldiers, making out that they were a ‘supreme Briton’ but “[only] included those entries which promoted the image of the digger [Bean] favoured…”
•Some men shot off their fingers to escape the front, but “No trace of this reluctance was allowed to appear in The ANZAC Book.
•“As a result of Bean’s work and representations, the Australian War Memorial would be built in Canberra.” This is an extremely important part of Australia’s national identity.
•ANZAC Legend:
oSuperb fighter, because of their background.
oNaturally and unusually competent.
oLoyalty to a mate.
oBush life (strong, hardworking, G’day Mate people).
“Bean also included that the experience of living in the bush made Australians natural warriors.”
The bush, he claimed, with its good food, benign climate and active life gave Australians a better physique than their European counterparts.
oIndependence of mind.
oInquisitiveness and resourcefulness.
oEagerness to learn.
oAn ability to make decisions and a skill at scrounging.
oAn Australian from the bush, he claimed, was “bred to a habit of decision, whereas the mind of the city man was more dependent on the will of those about him.”
oHe later argued that the bush was not as ultimately as important as the democratic and egalitarian society in which they lived.
oThe vital element in his account of the AIF was mateship.
oIn 1941, thanks to Bean’s representations, the Australian War Memorial was opened in Canberra.

How Did Charles Bean Help To Create A National Identity?
Is anyone else weirded out by all of these strange questions? Who's my babies daddy? I had sex yesterday and now I have all the pregnancy symptoms know to man? If someone puts sperm in a jar can a girl get pregnant?

Children...Listen
If you have unprotected sex...yes you can get pregnant.
If you cheat on your BF/Husband yes you can get pregnant by the other guy.
Pulling out is not birth control
If there is no semen present NO you can't get pregnant.
Listing pregnancy symptoms don't mean you are pregnant....most of the time they are the same as period symptoms.
If you are 17 & TTC w/ your boyfriend....STOP! Finish high school and try adult hood....its worth it. Why wouldn't you want to wait until you were married anyway?
I don't even know what to say about the person who asked about putting sperm in a jar and someone getting pregnant.

This is supposed to be for people looking for real answers and people who need real advice.

If you think you are pregnant take a test. If it has a really faint line....wait a few days and take another.

People honestly if you used a little logic then some of these questions wouldn't be asked.

I'm sorry to be so rude but I'm just annoyed. I'm trying to learn about pregnancy and TTC through peoples personal experiences and I see a lot more garbage then anything else.

Anyone else want to help clear up some facts for these kids who either sleep around or are just bored at home?I believe lack of education is the problem. Its so sad.

I'm seriously TTC with my husband of 1 year (tomorrow) and I do have real questions and real excitment & I get a lot of info from other questions from other legitimate couples going through what I am going through. Its just sad.

Pregnancy/TTC...WTF is going on?
I think i am kind of smart and i very unorganized very scatterbrained i lose thing all the time. I try to mange things but it just blows up in my face. Paper flying every where. When i try to get organized then it gets messy. I also have very poor test taking skills. When i think of something my thought are all over the place i cant keep them together. I am a bad speller i and spell the easiest of words. I count on my finger when doing math. ( i havent learned my times tables i had trouble with them ever since i was little) I take honers classes and my dad said i have a high IQ. But i think these problems are holding back.

i'm trying to help my friend finish this project about G.S.R
and thank you for your answer. can you just help me with about 3 more questions and thats it? and you seem like the only one who knows the answer lol.

Question 1: Can GSR be transferred from someones hand to other surfaces? like inside on the car handle, dashboard, seats?

Question 2: Let's say the person shot from the front passenger window, with the rear window "up" would or could GSR be on that window? If the window was "down" would GSR be blown into the car by the wind?

Question 3: If "10" rounds of bullets were fired from a speeding car "would" or "could" GSR be blown into the car by the wind? If so, would it be on the driver, the drivers clothes, and the interior of the car? if so, would it be enough to detect for a test to be done?

THANK YOU I KNOW IT'S A LOT!
like i said it's just for a project; nothing stupid trust me!

I've been wondering this for a while because when I bought the car I noticed that all the switches and locks light up, but the two back door window switches don't. Are they burnt out or do they just not light up?

Do the rear window switches light up on a 2003 Chevy Impala?
There's a spider living inside my car's side-view mirror. It keeps building a web between the mirror and the window. Whenever I get rid of the web, it just re-builds it again. It doesn't mess with my visibility enough to make it dangerous, but it is really annoying. How do I get rid of the spider???It's literally *inside* the mirror, so I can't get at it.

Which movie is better?
Before I get to my problem, unfortunately, I have to adress this problem. Since my question is involving a system involved in the "War" I prefer to not have any comments about how I "should of picked the XBox rofl!" and "XBox kicks ass!!!11!!!!" This question is for the mature minded, who can handle helping with my technical issues.
Now with that out of the way, my problem:
My PS3 Blu-ray drive first ate a DVD(Unfortunately my landlord’s, Yikes) It finally came out after a day. When it first happened, it made a noise like the disc cracked inside. It was an Alfred Hitchcock DVD(Rear Window), so I thought to myself, it must have had a crack in the center ring. Well I left it alone to prepare my apology speech to my landlord. The next day I tried the old, hold the eject button down, again and it came out... and intact. Now I feel like everything is A-OK... wrong. I leave it alone for about 15 minutes and I return to the PS3 to place a CD inside. It's blocked by some middle cylinder. I press the eject button and the cylinder retracts, but no mechanisms activate when I go to put the CD in. So now I'm thinking it's still trying to eject, so it will not accept a CD because it believes there is still a disc inside. I quit again for another day preparing my analysis to a Sony rep. I haven't called because each day so far my PS3 has made a step to recovery. The next day, before I decide to call, I try putting in the CD again. The PS3 takes it. Ok I thought let's see if it reads. I go to the XMB, to the music tab(Audio CD) nothing... I look at the PS3 and notice the blue light is not on. This was 2 days ago the only progress the drive has made since is that the insertion doesn't seem to be making a grinding gears noise when I insert the CD. But that is not very helpful because it does not change the fact that the PS3 drive is not reading anything still. That is my problem and I need assistance in what to do next. I've been reading up about the PS3 drive throughout and it doesn't look good. I've only had this thing since December and have not used it since April(visited home left system packaged for I had one at home to use) I'm just looking for some final efforts of help before I go to Sony to most likely replace my Blu Ray drive and possibly the entire PS3, itself.

What to do next with my, what seems, defective PS3?

Buick Park Avenue rear window defroster not working--can I fix it myself?
I am due on saturday and put the car seat into the car this afternoon. I did not have any instructions beyond the stickers on the side. It is a rear facing with the detachable seat type, evenflow brand. I attached the strap (with two clasps that came on it) to the two rings in the crease of the seat (one on each side) and then the shoulder belt through the space that the first strap runs (as per the stickers), (both of these in the base) is that all I do? It feels wiggly sideways despite being as tight as I can get it... and it is not anchored in the front? just at the rear? Zero experience with car seats... am I missing something?

the level window thingie is green, I am guessing green means good?

Sorry, if that was hard to follow... it is surprisingly hard to describe! :)...thanks! :) we are planning on going to the hospital or fire station to have it double checked before baby comes... I just felt like we were missing somehting major since it is only attached in the rear and not the front.

im 13 and I added stuff to my new story. I changed the name of my best friend, too. Would you edit/proofread/suggest stuff. When it says Class Time, thats a new chapter. Here it is

“Naomi, look,” is all my best friend Evangeline said, with a smirk on her face.
I caught her drift when I saw her hands forming a weird sign. I can also tell by her eyes, she means to say, “Naomi! It’s him! The guy! The one that you love! He’s here! At our school!”
Andrew Schaeffer. This is inevitable. Irrevocable. Beyond my wildest dreams. Andrew Schaeffer just smiled at me. And I’m not trying to be conceited, but I think he likes my new haircut. Or maybe, I am being completely dim-witted. There is absolutely, no way possible, that he smiled at me. Maybe it was Evangeline, although she always says I am prettier than her, she always attracts the guys. It must be something about her smile, her personality, or maybe because she is downright hilarious.
Wait. He’s here? At school? Now I know he wasn’t smiling at me. I go to school with a bunch of beauty queens; you know, the girls that spend an hour just doing their hair for gym.
Everyone dreams about looking into the eyes of their lover on the first day of high school. Then, he graduates early, they go to the same college, and bam, they get married and have 3 lovely kids.
Although that’s not exactly my dream, I only got up to the “looking in the eyes” part.
Either way, I am either hallucinating, or I’m dreaming.
“Hello? Naomi? You’ve been staring at the wall for two minutes. OH! You were daydreaming again, weren’t you? What does that matter? He looked and smiled at you!”
Although I love Evangeline like a sister, sometimes I can’t get her to stop talking. I need my quiet time. The time I use to think. What does it matter now; high school is so far okay.

Class Time

“Oh hey, Naomi! Who do you have first,” George Hughes asked.
“Er, hey George. I got Hansen. Is she nice?”
George’s smile kind of creeped me out, it made her seem so evil.
“Yeah, she’s a good teacher, too. Do you know where the class is?”
“Yeah. I think. Wait. Never……mind?”
Was Nikki really wearing that? I thought she was a tomboy. Wow. She already has three people trailing behind her. It’s been three months and she already changed by a landslide. This would be the type of change that isn’t good.
“Naomi. Okay, you are ignoring me. Hello? Naomi. This is sad. This is disappoi-“
“SHHH! Look at Nikki. Why is she wearing a tank top? And those shorts. Ew, those shorts. I can’t believe she would wear that. You know what? I don’t even care. If she wants to be like that, she can,” I realized how jealous I sounded after the words came out of my mouth.

“Hey George! It’s been so long. I think you grew! That’s cool,” Evangeline was back already.
“Come on Naomi, class starts in six minutes. Let’s get to walking. Bye George.”
“Bye Naomi. Bye Evangeline.”

Miss Marie Hanson. That’s my first class. Two minutes away. One minute. We are there.
“Hello, class. I am Miss Hansen,” she said as she wrote it in a childish writing style. Very rounded. I think that is good.
She is taking attendance and doing the classic “This is the name on my roster, if you have a preferred nickname that you go by, let me know.”
Who are all these people? Could there really be that many different schools? I only recognize nine names. Naomi Fischer (me). Evangeline Harrison. Jamie Jackson and her twin brother Darren. Linda Chen. Nikki Watson and her three followers: Jenna Perry, Hannah Johnson, and Annie Peters, queen of all bubble-brains.
“You walked in together, sat down next to each other, and you are talking. I am going to take a wild guess here; are you two best friends,” Miss Hansen was looking at Evangeline and me.
“Yes. But we aren’t that loud during class,” I begin.
“Yeah. It’s like we laugh and talk a lot, but we work, too,” Evangeline continued.
“That’s why we were always allowed to sit by each other.”
“We will see about that. Oh, and sorry if I scared you. I just like to know my students. It helps me understand their homework, stories, poems, and interpretations of literature."

What pumps is Jenna Fischer wearing on February '09 Self Magazine Cover?
what do you prefer? a girl who looks more sweet innocent/wholesome (ie-Jenna Fischer) or a girl who wears heavy makeup (ie-Kim Kardashian) & doesn't look as sweet innocent or wholesome? Why?

guys: wholesome/innocent look vs. not?
I wanted to get Jenna Fischer, John Krasinski, Rainn Wilson, and Steve Carell's autographs (BIG fan of THE OFFICE) but I don't want to send them any of my OFFICE fanfare just in case I never get it back. I got Angela Kinsey's autograph just by sending a SASE so I didn't actually have to send her anything to sign. Thanks so much!

Where could I get a celebrity's head shot photo like the ones you give to them to autograph?
because I think she has light brown hair and my sister says she is red hair--and she is nott! She is not red hair at all, is it?

what color is jenna´s fischer hair? (pam from the office)?
For years now i've been a huge admirer of the NBC hit tv show "The Office". I started watching while on my first deployment to the middle east and I still proclaim it as my favorite TV show to watch. I have always saw myself in Jim. I mean the way I act, the lax attitude towards life and living, the shyness in saying certain things and even the fears that we both have are mirror images of each other. Heck i've even had the same hair type as him even before I started watching the show. Granted military hair doesn't leave you with much but I promise you my hair is at maximum length for military standards and is always messed up. And naturally with living vicariously through Jim I have honestly fallen in love with Pam. I just don't get it. I search all my life to find my dream girl and I turn on the TV and there she is. It's not Jenna Fischer that i'm drawn to (even though I will say without the same attitude she still sparks my interest). It's Pam! The way she walks, the sound of her sweet soft voice. The words that she speaks seem to hug your body making you feel so warm and comfortable, resonating in your head for hours on end to the point where you can't work for a single second without thinking of her. I swear every time that show starts and I see her in her little cardigans I can feel my heart pounding harder and harder. Her skin seems just the right tone of paleness and her beautiful seemingly soft brunette hair (with a little bit of strawberry mixed in there) just floating off her shoulders. I just don't get it. I searched continents to discover the right girl only to see her on TV as a fictional character that I can never have nor be with. It's sounds so stupid and childish but I honestly feel heartbroken. This is just rediculous. I'm rediculous.Let me point out that television shows and movies together are designed to create a fictional personality that is like any other that exists in reality. Aside from being designed by a screen writer what is so different about these characters that makes them not human. They are played by real people, showing seemingly real emotions, and real situations that can very well happen in reality.

Help!!! I'm in love with a fictional character( Pam Beesley).?
I have been a huge fan of The Office since early 07 and I find Pam Beesley (Jenna Fischer) to be my idea of my dream girl. Everything about her seems soo perfect it's unreal. Anyways after watching this youtube video I find myself speechless and completely in love with Jim and Pam as a couple. Not that I wasn't before but this just put it up in the stratosphere. Just watch and tell me what you think. I think Pam is alot like Jenna in real life. Even when asked when she feels most comfortable and beautiful she says that she is most at ease when she's just wearing a hoodie with her hair up. It's hard to see her as being an actress because the person that she is just doesn't line up with what a typical hollywood star acts like. She is extremely down to earth (not stuck up and snobby) and easily approachable. Not to mention that she got the "girl next-door" look about her and is not afraid to let her hair down. Yep i'm definately in love! ;-)

Jim and Pam from The Office?
I've been trying to find interviews and q&a videos of John Krasinski & Jenna Fischer, but can't seem to find a whole lot. I've searched Youtube and google videos, also hulu, but I'm wondering if there is any other sites where I can find some videos or promos of John Krasinski & Jenna Fischer together. thanks
